Last weekend was October Bank Holiday, but since we're heading back to the US this week, we decided to lay low in Dublin, but still make an effort to get out of town for a day.  The weather forecast for Saturday was cold but sunny.  That's about as perfect as it can get over here, so we wanted to take advantage of it.  We hit the road in the Little Green Machine  with our friends Abby & Brandon for a trip down to Glendalough to go on a hike. Brian and I had been to Glendalough before, on our first road trip in Ireland , but we didn't go on any of the hikes, so I was really looking forward to it. I've been working in Ireland for exactly 4 months on Thursday.  These 4 months have flown by and I'm soaking up every minute I can. Working here has been an incredible experience, and I'm so lucky to enjoy my company, co-workers and job. Here is a glimpse of what my days are like. We change seats about once a month, so I now sit by 5 different colleagues  The photo above is where I (used to) sit.  My seat was the open one in the middle.  To my left was Antoine, from France.  Across from him, Mohamed, from Egypt.  Then Letizia from Italy, Saoirse from Ireland and Caroline from Sweden.  It's incredible.  My boss is Dutch and his boss Canadian. My colleagues are from all over Europe and even beyond.  I'm constantly impressed with the number of languages some of them speak and am insanely jealous that probably half of my team speaks at least 2 languages well enough to do business in them. After a full  first day in Prague , a delicious dinner and a good rest, we were ready to see more.  If you missed the  last pos t, my In-Laws were over in Europe and after seeing them in Dublin, they met us for a weekend in Prague! Along the Vtlama I didn't show you the apartment we stayed in the last post.  It was an awesome attic apartment, right in the the middle of town.  The whole ceiling was old exposed beams.  The photo isn't great, but it's all I got. I'm not sure this picture does the attic apartment justice.  It was cool. And not too far from our apartment was the Bakeshop, which was an amazing bakery where we had breakfast 2 of the 3 mornings.  I had committed to waking up early and getting everyone breakfast from there the 3rd morning too, but just couldn't pull myself out of bed when the alarm went off. Brian's parents came to visit us last week!  It was quite the treat to have them over and to have our first visitors in Dublin.  The plan was for them to be in Dublin for 2 days, then head over to Austria for a few days before meeting Brian and I in Prague the following weekend. We all know a trip from the West Coast to Ireland is loooong, but what we didn't expect was for Robin & Richard's flight to be delayed and them to miss their connection!  If that wasn't bad enough, the delay was 24 hours so we lost a full day with them in Dublin. Brian and I were so disappointed, so I could only imagine how Robin & Richard felt, being stuck in DC with no help from the airline (not to worry though, Robin wrote a letter and was nicely compensated in the end).  Anyway, they eventually made it here and their time was so short, I only got 1 photo - can you believe it?  I'm sure Brian can't.  At least it was a good one.
