On Becoming a Big Sister {A Sydney & Family update}

We became a family of 4 when we welcomed Charlie on April 22nd, just over a month ago, and our 2 kids are definitely keeping us busy.  Here we are at the end of our first weekend together. Before Charlie arrived,  I was most nervous about how Sydney would adjust to having a baby around and me not being able to lift her for 6 weeks (c-section).  The week leading up to his arrival, I tried to get in as much time with her as possible.  I picked her up early from school and tried to get as many cuddles in as she would allow.  It was tough because even though we talked about Charlie a lot and told her he was coming soon, she was too young to comprehend what it meant and how her life would change.  I can honestly say she has far exceeded all our expectations and the lifting hasn't been an issue at all, she is a great big sister! Charlie {month 1}

We welcomed Charlie to the family on April 22nd.  He weighed 7lbs 3oz and has gained just over 2 lbs since.  Charlie turned one month last Sunday and this little boy is already keeping us busy. 4 days old Everyone says no two babies are alike but I still assumed I would get another easy, laid back baby like Sydney.  Nope, Charlie is his own little person, and quite the opposite.  He likes to eat and be held, and isn't fond of sleeping for long stretches at night.  He is pretty fussy and not a huge fan of the car or stroller, yet.  It's a good thing he is super cute and is starting to give us some nice smiles. His biggest accomplishment this month was rolling from his belly to his back.  When he was 17 days old, I put him on his belly for the first time and he rolled right over.  I couldn't believe it but he did it again, and again and has been able to ever since.  Slow down little guy, slow down.
