Neon - Asian Street Food

On Friday night, we walked by Neon, which is a newish Asian Street Food restaurant in Dublin.  We recognized the name from a fellow Dublin Blogger, An American Girl In Dublin, who posted about Neon serving Pho, which apparently you can't find anywhere in Dublin.  To put it nicely, her experience with the Pho was disappointing, but her overall review of the restaurant was positive.

We decided to check it out on Saturday, sans Pho.  The restaurant had a cool atmosphere, and was definitely a popular spot.

We ordered Ginger Shrimp, Green Curry and Duck Spring Rolls - all dishes were really good, and authentic.  We still can't get over the Pho they served.  I'm hopefully determined that they just ran out of the correct ingredients that night, and threw something together.  How can they get Green Curry and Ginger Shrimp so "right" and Pho, so "wrong".  It just doesn't make sense.  At some point, we'll be desperate enough for Pho to give it a try.

Another reason we'll definitely be back, is they bring you ice cream cones - just the cones - with your meal.  When you're done, you can help yourself to the self-serve machine.  It's the perfect ending to a spicy Asian dinner, or, who am I kidding, any dinner.

After dinner, it's only natural to grab a pint.  We found a bar on Friday that we really liked, so after a short debate, we went back to Anseo, which is pronounced "On Shu", meaning "here" in Irish.  It's got a great vibe, lot's of beers on tap and awesome music.  I have a feeling we'll be back there a lot.

Cheers to a fun 2nd Saturday night in Dublin!

  1. Yeah! Glad you tried it. The food is really good, right? It's probably the best asian in Dublin. Sad.

You'll have to try Saba though. The food is good but the cocktails are AMAZING.

Congrats on settling into a new apartment. Yeah!
