It was just as beautiful of a day as it was on Day 1 of our trip, and we wanted to take full advantage of it. We decided to drive south to the Cliff of Moher, then swing back up to The Weir for lunch at Moran's Oyster Cottage, which came highly recommended by Brian's co-workers, all before heading back across the country to Dublin.

| I think I said "this is just beautiful" at least a 100 times during our drive |
When you visit somewhere new, you often have an idea of what it will be like, or what to expect. Well, Brian was dying to see castles and rock walls in Ireland. There was no shortage of rock walls, and plenty of castles on this trip.

It wasn't just on this trip, but people just park wherever they want in Ireland. The photo below was taken on the coastal highway. The highway! The speed limit on this road is 100km (63 mph), it's narrow, curvy and apparently it's cool if you just park your car in the middle of the lane - in the wrong direction.
 |
| just a little added stress, obstacles in the lane |
I think I took 100 photos, just from the car, but I did convince Brian to pull over at one point.

Happy cows - and this was our fist glimpse of the Cliffs of Moher.
If you look closely, you can see them in the background |

| Do you see the castle in the background? |
 |
| Just green rolling hills and the sea |
 |
| NBD - just stopped for a cattle crossing - where are we again? |
We finally made it to the Cliffs of Moher. They were literally the opposite of the
cliffs we saw in Eastbourne, well, opposite color at least.
After taking in the views at the Cliffs, we headed back toward Galway, but stopped a little before at Moran's Oyster Cottage for a late lunch. It was the perfect stop. We had the best Fish & Chips ever, sat outside in the sun and enjoyed the view.

All in all, it was a fun and full 2-day cross country journey. We can't wait to go back to Galway. Next time we're taking the train and bringing our bikes!
